I just got started on “This Lovely Life,” by Vicki Forman. It’s about 23-week preemie twins who had a much harder time at birth in the NICU than our son did. It’s a sad story, and it presents a much different perspective of a parent. Rather than our case of trying to convince the hospital to resuscitate, in this case, the parents were trying to get the hospital to let the babies go, and the hospital said that it had an obligation to care for them. This book is sad, but does a very good job of completely explaining the emotions the author went through. I’ve only made it through the first chapter so far.
